The government of Assam is committed to enhancing the state’s healthcare system and overall infrastructure. As part of this commitment, a medical college and hospital will be constructed in Darrang district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to be in Assam on September 8 to lay the foundation stone for this significant healthcare project. Moreover, he is also likely to inaugurate the Narengi-Kurua bridge over the Brahmaputra River and the Guwahati Ring Road project from Darrang. Development projects worth approximately Rs 8,000 crore are slated to be initiated during the visit. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the transformative impact of these developments on Darrang. Plans are also in motion to establish a medical college in Udalguri, with a focus on sustainable construction practices.
