BCCI asks general manager KVP Rao to quit, annual meeting today

The Indian Cricket Board is scheduled to hold its 89th annual meeting of the General Assembly in Ahmedabad today, but before this, BCCI general manager KVP Rao has been asked to quit. Rao has thanked the board for giving him the opportunity to contribute to the country’s game.

Rao wrote in his email that this mail informs all of you that the BCCI has decided to end my job on 22 December 2020. This is the best day of my life, because from this end I will get good opportunities in life. I will get a chance to show my ability elsewhere.

In the 89th annual meeting of the BCCI General Assembly today, the inclusion of two new teams of IPL and formation of various cricket committees will be included in the agenda. BCCI’s AGM will also discuss cricket’s inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Apart from this, members of the IPL Governing Council will be appointed, one of which has already been nominated from the Indian Cricketers Association, replacing Prainder Ojha along with Pragyan Ojha.

Also, there will be talks about new IPL franchises as it is believed that two new franchises may come up by 2022. 23 issues will be included in the agenda in the annual meeting. These include confirmation of the minutes of the 88th Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai on December 1, 2019, election of the Vice President, election of two representatives of the General Body in the Governing Council of the IPL and appointment of members of the Governing Council.
