The festering garbage crisis in Bengaluru has ignited a political firestorm, with BJP legislators blasting the Congress dispensation for inaction. Thursday’s sharp critiques from Karnataka BJP ranks exposed the chasm between government promises and delivery.
At the forefront was MLA CT Ravi, who skewered Deputy CM DK Shivakumar over his ‘Brand Bangalore’ mantra. ‘It’s code for corruption, plain and simple,’ Ravi asserted to journalists. ‘They’re misleading the masses, ignoring complaints, with no one to hear the citizens’ cries.’
From the BJP state executive platform, Ravi underscored party ethos. ‘Our focus is organizational growth and public dialogue, enabling us to amplify grassroots concerns,’ he explained. ‘Workers fuel our mission, and people know who fights for them.’
Venturing nationally, Ravi dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s stature. ‘Even Congress insiders shun him; public repudiation follows his missteps. Alliances shatter, yielding poll routs.’
He hailed PM Modi’s record unequivocally. ‘Modi champions public good relentlessly. BJP states flourish, affirming our pro-people stance.’
MLA S Suresh Kumar chided Shivakumar’s detachment. ‘Deputy CMs bear responsibility – understand the torment in Badapur and Mahadevapura from waste accumulation,’ he implored. ‘Prioritize resolutions through MLAs, beyond rhetoric.’
BJP’s Ajay Alok decried endemic corruption. ‘The government’s mired in sleaze, exemplified by plot handouts favoring Gandhis.’
Bengaluru’s trash turmoil symbolizes broader mismanagement. While barbs dominate, urgent intervention is imperative to restore civic order and public trust.
