Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal steps up its rail game with the opening of a high-tech control office. Inaugurated by West Central Railway General Manager Shobhana Bandyopadhyay on Wednesday, this facility promises smarter, safer train management.
At the ceremony, Bandyopadhyay declared the control office indispensable for rail excellence. It will drive up efficiency while guaranteeing passengers smooth, secure, and on-time travel. She mandated top focus on tech utilization for superior safety and amenities.
Welcoming the GM, DRM Pankaj Tyagi called it a proud achievement. ‘Train operations, maintenance, and emergency handling will see robust improvements,’ he affirmed.
The GM held discussions with control room personnel to understand workflows intimately. Fully functional from launch day, the center features next-gen communication, digital surveillance, real-time tracking, server infrastructure, disaster control suite, and scheduling analytics.
Inspection revealed setups tailored for peak performance in punctuality, security protocols, and crisis response. This upgrade positions Bhopal division at the forefront of railway innovation, delivering tangible benefits like reduced disruptions and proactive safety measures to everyday rail users.
