Rajasthan Police executed a robust two-phase security sweep last week, erecting checkpoints at 727 locations to vet over 35,000 vehicles and weed out criminal elements. Spearheaded by DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma, the drive reinforced law enforcement across multiple ranges, blending traffic policing with anti-crime measures.

Initiated in Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Jaipur on day one, it expanded to Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota the next. Detailed checks covered 16,676 motorcycles and 18,795 cars, uncovering widespread disregard for road safety.

Among highlights, 262 drivers faced drunk driving charges, 1,173 two-wheeler users were challaned for no helmets, 1,213 for skipping seatbelts, and 75 for phone distractions. Non-compliant plates drew 857 actions, tinted films 739, pushing total MV Act cases to 7,185. Jodhpur recorded the highest at 1,633, with Udaipur at 1,583 and others following suit.

Parallel efforts nabbed illicit activities: 53 liquor FIRs, 10 arms, 10 drugs. Vehicles seized numbered eight, arrests hit 89, detentions 161. In Kota, 200 liters of hooch and sharp arms were recovered; mining busts claimed 75 tons of gravel and sundry rigs.

This comprehensive push underscores Rajasthan Police’s commitment to safer roads and streets. DGP Sharma directed relentless monitoring of suspects, vowing regular mega-operations to sustain momentum in crime prevention and rule adherence.
