In a boost for Bihar’s creative ambitions, actor Manoj Bajpayee toured the state museum in Patna on Tuesday, championing its drive to excel in films and theater alongside its storied literary and folk art legacy. The Padma Shri recipient sees big potential in the Bihar Film Promotion Policy.
Integral to the policy’s formulation, Bajpayee noted its success in luring producers nationwide. ‘This is a game-changer for cultural and economic progress,’ he stated. Enhanced locations, infrastructure, and academies could empower local talent to craft movies from Bihar’s treasure trove of social dramas and historical epics for global audiences.
Bajpayee’s museum exploration covered millennia: Stone Age relics, Neolithic advancements, Bronze Age innovations, and imperial glories of Maurya, Magadha, Gupta, and Mughal times. Through coins, ornaments, utensils, and weaponry on display, he gained profound insights into the region’s past.
‘Bihar Museum masterfully animates our civilization’s facets,’ he remarked. Conversations with Art and Culture Secretary Pranav Kumar reinforced the policy’s role in elevating Bihar’s film profile, promising widespread benefits.
Wrapping up, Bajpayee applauded the fusion of cutting-edge design with historical conservation, extending gratitude to the department. ‘It’s not just Bihar’s glory—it’s India’s,’ he affirmed, signaling a bright future for the state’s artistic evolution.
