Bihar’s political climate is becoming increasingly volatile, with rallies and strong rhetoric dominating the scene. Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ has gained traction, bolstered by the participation of southern state Chief Ministers Revanth Reddy and MK Stalin. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha condemned the Grand Alliance’s decision to include Reddy and Stalin, viewing it as an insult to the state. He argued that Bihar is thriving under the double-engine government and should not be disrupted by political figures like Rahul and Tejashwi.
Sinha alleged that Rahul and Tejashwi are fundamentally opposed to Sanatan principles, therefore, they are supporting figures like MK Stalin. He questioned their rationale for inviting leaders with anti-Sanatan and anti-Bihar views, asserting that the people of Bihar perceive this as an insult. Sinha further criticized the leaders’ irresponsible actions, including deliberately violating security protocols to cause unrest and then blaming the government. He pointed out that the roads and bridges used during their election tours were constructed by the NDA government.
A protest march in Patna, organized by the Bihar Pasmanda Foundation, featured slogans against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin. BJP representatives, including Danish Iqbal and Guru Prakash Paswan, criticized the actions of the visiting leaders, accusing them of disrespecting Bihar and its citizens. Paswan also accused previous governments of undermining democracy, and lauded the NDA’s efforts in bringing progress to Bihar.
Dr. Santosh Suman, the National President of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), accused Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav of insulting Bihar by inviting those who have insulted its people. Shrawan Kumar Agrawal, the National Spokesperson of Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), voiced concern over the state’s law and order situation, referencing recent attacks on state ministers.
At a public meeting in Muzaffarpur, former minister Mukesh Sahni spoke out against vote manipulation, and called for the protection of democratic principles. Sahni accused the BJP, RSS, and Election Commission of voter fraud.
