6 Injured in Bihar Knife Attack Following Bereavement

Tragedy struck twice for a family in Khagaria, Bihar, when a son turned violent following the death of his father. On Wednesday morning, the death of Ugrasen Pathak brought several villagers and relatives together at his home in Jamua village. However, the atmosphere of mourning was shattered when Ugrasen’s son, Pradeep Pathak, suddenly attacked the crowd with a sharp weapon. Six people, including female members of the family and elderly neighbors, sustained serious injuries in the ensuing chaos. The victims have been identified as Reeta Devi, Bachchan Devi, Seema Devi, Manju Devi, Harilal Yadav, and Kshatri Yadav.

The swift intervention of the Chautham police led to the immediate apprehension of Pradeep Pathak. Police officials stated that the suspect is currently being interrogated, and a case has been registered based on the statements of the victims and eyewitnesses. While the motive remains tied to a sudden psychological break, the severity of the injuries has caused significant concern in the region. Three of the six victims are reportedly battling for their lives at the Sadar Hospital. The local administration has assured the villagers that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure justice for the victims of this senseless violence.
