Ahead of the assembly elections, a joint operation by the police and Excise Department in Gopalganj, Bihar, resulted in a significant seizure of illicit liquor. Based on credible information, law enforcement officials confiscated 900 cartons of foreign liquor from a truck. The interception occurred at the Balthari check post in the Kucha Kot police station area. The estimated value of the seized liquor is approximately one crore rupees. Authorities arrested Dawood Nabi, a resident of Murshidabad, in connection with the illegal activity. According to the initial findings, the liquor was being transported from Uttar Pradesh to Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The driver initially stated that the truck was carrying cotton. However, the police’s suspicion led to the discovery of liquor cartons cleverly concealed among the cotton bales inside the truck.
