Bihar Crime: ITBP Personnel Shoots Relative Near Rajnarayan College

The peaceful neighborhood of Samta Colony in Hajipur was shattered by the sound of gunfire when a soldier from the ITBP allegedly shot his cousin three times. The victim, Jitendra Kumar Singh, is a well-known local shopkeeper who lived in a rented house near R.N. College. The suspect, Rohit Singh, who is originally from the Sahdei area, was arrested on the spot by the Nagar police. Initial investigations suggest that the two relatives had been at odds for several months. On the day of the incident, a meeting was scheduled to resolve their differences, but it ended in tragedy. Police officials stated that the licensed pistol used in the shooting has been recovered and will be sent for ballistic testing. The rapid response of the local police prevented the situation from escalating further, as an angry crowd had begun to gather following the shooting. The SHO of the local police station confirmed they are looking into land records and personal grievances.
