Political figure Prashant Kishor has criticized Nitish Kumar’s government over its pension scheme, which offers Rs 400 per month to senior citizens. Kishor described the amount as insufficient, comparing it unfavorably to the earnings of beggars. During a rally in Begusarai, Kishor made several promises concerning employment and education. He vowed to create job opportunities in Bihar, reducing the necessity for the youth to seek employment elsewhere. Kishor also committed to raising the pension to Rs 2,000 per month starting December 2025. In addition, he proposed a scheme to provide financial assistance for children from underprivileged families to attend private English schools. Kishor is currently leading the ‘Badlav Yatra’ across Bihar, during which he is targeting the ruling parties.
