Bihar Sets Deadline for Seed Distribution to Farmers

The Bihar government is taking steps to ensure that farmers receive certified and improved seeds in time for the Kharif crop season. The government has set a deadline of June 20th for the distribution of seeds, according to Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha. The government has set distribution targets for various seeds for the Kharif 2025 season. These targets include 30,000 quintals of hybrid paddy seeds, 30,069 quintals of high-yielding paddy varieties, 9,500 quintals of hybrid maize seeds and 9,740 quintals of pigeon pea seeds. The goal is to help farmers maximize their yields during the Kharif season. The government is committed to ensuring a transparent distribution process that meets farmers’ needs. The Department of Agriculture is monitoring the distribution at the district level to ensure seed supply is timely. Farmers are encouraged to use the improved, certified seeds provided by the department and to adopt scientific farming practices to enhance production. This initiative is an important step towards achieving a developed and prosperous Bihar.
