Bihar Unveils 3 New Expressways to Connect with UP

The road to a 'Developed Bihar' is being paved through the banks of the Ganga and Gandak rivers. The state government has unveiled a comprehensive plan for 220 kilometers of new expressways that will redefine connectivity within the region and with neighboring Uttar Pradesh. The projects, known as the Vishwamitra, Ambika, and Narayani Paths, will be developed through the Bihar State Road Development Corporation (BSRDC) using a PPP model. This initiative aims to stimulate investment, boost tourism, and generate thousands of local employment opportunities. Road Construction Minister E. Shailendra emphasized that these modern road networks are essential for achieving the state's long-term economic goals, ensuring that every corner of Bihar is linked to the national trade corridors. Among the three, the Narayani Path is specifically designed to transform the Gandak river region. Stretching 74 kilometers from Darihara in Sonpur to Dumaria in Gopalganj, this path will provide a direct link between Patna and the East-West Corridor. This is expected to be a major boon for the agricultural and small-scale industrial sectors in the Saran and Gopalganj districts. By providing a reliable route for the transport of goods, the Narayani Path will breathe new life into the local economy of the Diara regions. This strategic connectivity will not only reduce logistical costs for businesses but also improve the overall standard of living by providing better access to healthcare and education facilities in previously remote areas.
