A notorious chapter in Bihar’s criminal underworld closed dramatically when Vaishali police and STF cornered and killed gold robber Prince during a raid in Sadar thana’s Hanuman Nagar. One companion surrendered with arms as the shootout unfolded. Prince, or Abhijeet Kumar from Goraul’s Husseina, was Subodh Singh’s trusted lieutenant in one of the state’s most prolific theft rings.
According to SP Vikram Sinhag, precise intel led teams to the hideout. The suspect fired first; police responded, critically wounding him. He died en route to Sadar Hospital. The arrested aide and weapon bolster the case, with FSL on-site.
Fugitive since six months, Prince’s dossier listed over 40 FIRs for heists, murders, and Arms Act breaches. Famously, he escaped PMCH custody in 2025 by hosting a mutton party for his eight escorts, then locking them away. His 2018 Hajipur court cop killing preceded a brief incarceration.
The gang’s scorecard: 56 kg gold in Asansol 2017, 55 kg Hajipur 2019, 24 kg Udaipur 2022, 16 kg Katni 2022, 18 kg Dehradun 2023, plus more. Police hail this as a breakthrough, but warn of ongoing threats from associates.
