Brutal Killing of Minor Cousins Shakes Muzaffarpur; Police Launch Probe

In a tragedy that has stunned the Rampurhari region of Muzaffarpur, two young cousins who went missing during a local village festival have been found dead. The girls, 12-year-old Mausami and 7-year-old Ruchi, disappeared on Sunday while a religious ceremony for ‘Bakhtor Bhuiya Baba’ was being held in the village. Initially, the family believed the children were at the gathering, but panic set in when they failed to return by nightfall. After two days of frantic searching, the family filed a formal police complaint. The search ended tragically on Wednesday morning when their mutilated bodies were discovered in a ‘Chaur’ or waterlogged field. The brutality of the murder, involving the severing of limbs, has led to heightened tensions in the village, with residents blocking local paths and demanding immediate justice. Police officials have promised a swift investigation to pacify the grieving community.
