Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, strongly reacted to Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya’s statement, calling the claim that Manusmriti is the first constitution of India as an act of treason. Addressing a TV9 Digital Bihar event, Yadav questioned the status of women, Dalits, and backward classes within Manusmriti, encouraging people to assess the merits of the text. Yadav argued that the first constitution was crafted by Babasaheb Ambedkar. He also commented on the SIR issue, dismissing it and highlighting the Supreme Court’s decision. Yadav also criticized the current governance in Bihar under Nitish Kumar, suggesting that Kumar’s party will not survive the upcoming elections, and accused the government of copying schemes.
