Delhi Weather: No Relief from Heat as Mercury Stays Above 40°C

Delhi-NCR residents should prepare for a sustained period of dry heat as the India Meteorological Department forecasts no rainfall for the region over the coming week. On Friday, the capital’s maximum temperature reached 41°C, and today is expected to follow a similar trajectory with a high of 40°C. Although some clouds may dot the sky, they are unlikely to bring any showers. The heatwave in the surrounding states of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh is further contributing to the rising temperatures in the capital, as hot winds from the west sweep across the plains. The situation in Uttar Pradesh is particularly concerning, with the mercury hitting 45.4°C in Banda.
