The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana in Bihar, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has initiated the direct transfer of funds to women across the state. A total of Rs 7,500 crore has been disbursed, with 75 lakh women receiving Rs 10,000 each. This initiative, a key component of the Bihar government’s efforts, aims to support women’s self-employment and improve their livelihoods. The scheme grants financial aid to women for starting their preferred employment or livelihood activities, encompassing sectors such as agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, and small businesses. Furthermore, the program includes community support through training programs led by Self Help Groups and the development of Gramin Haat-Bazaars for sales support. The statewide launch of the scheme was widely attended, engaging women at the district, block, cluster, and village levels.
