Rahul Gandhi, during his ongoing voter rights यात्रा (yatra) in Bihar, made strong accusations of vote theft against the BJP, also criticizing the Election Commission. He stated that the BJP’s claims of ruling for an extended period were not based on prediction, but rather on vote manipulation. He claimed that the current Election Commissioners are chosen by the Prime Minister without any input from the opposition. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joined her brother in the yatra, and Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD also participated, accusing the BJP of both vote theft and undermining reservation policies. The yatra began in Supaul and concluded in Darbhanga for the day and Rahul Gandhi reiterated that these tactics started in Gujarat and expanded across India, where selected states were allegedly won or lost by the BJP through such means. The yatra is scheduled to culminate in Patna on September 1st with a rally.
