Rohtas district in Bihar witnessed a horrifying honour killing on Tuesday night. A one-legged man, Shailendra Kumar, aged 28, was beaten to death by his lover’s husband and family in Baradi village. The community reels from the brutality, as Shailendra’s parents grieve their only son’s horrific end.
Details reveal a longstanding illicit relationship between Shailendra and a neighborhood housewife. Her spouse was away at a wedding when she lured Shailendra to the house. Excusing himself for nature’s call, he arrived swiftly and secluded himself with her in a room.
The plot twisted when the husband came home early. No answer to his knocks led to aggressive banging, rousing the household. Door ajar, they spotted the intruder. In a frenzy of betrayal-fueled anger, they assaulted Shailendra relentlessly. Unable to flee due to his leg impairment, he succumbed to injuries right there.
Alerted locals notified the victim’s father. Dial-112 responded, ferrying the injured to Sadar Hospital in Sasaram—only for doctors to confirm his demise. A written FIR at Mufassil thana accuses deliberate murder by the group.
The primary accused, the enraged husband, is in custody. The body underwent post-mortem examination. Police probe encompasses local interrogations and call detail verification. SP’s directive: no stone unturned in nabbing accomplices. This incident highlights simmering tensions over relationships in conservative villages.
