IMD Monsoon Tracker 2026: Rainfall in Odisha, Jharkhand; UP wait

The 2026 Monsoon season has officially intensified in Eastern India, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing alerts for West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand. These regions have seen a surge in rainfall activity over the past 24 hours, marking the arrival of the southwest monsoon winds. The weather department has noted that the monsoon winds are currently strengthening, which will facilitate their journey toward the central heartland and southern peninsula. States like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra are next in line to receive the seasonal rains. However, North and Northwest India, including Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, are still experiencing high temperatures.
