J&K Workplace Dispute Leads to Brutal Murder in Bihar Village
1 min readInvestigation into the killing of Ramanand Mahto in Samastipur has revealed a deep-seated grudge originating hundreds of miles away in Jammu and Kashmir. The victim was employed at an ice cream factory in the union territory, where he allegedly had a long-standing dispute with another man from his own village, identified as Bharat Rai. The conflict reportedly stemmed from professional competition and Rai’s demand that Mahto quit his job. This enmity culminated in the tragic events of Monday night when Mahto was targeted while sleeping unarmed at his doorstep.
Sadar DSP Sanjay Kumar confirmed that the police are focusing on this personal rivalry as the primary motive. ‘We have found evidence of a prior altercation between the victim and the suspect during their time in Jammu and Kashmir. This appears to be a case of revenge,’ the DSP stated. The police have registered an FIR based on the formal complaint filed by the victim’s family. The suspect is currently being interrogated, and the police are looking into whether others were involved in planning or executing the attack.
