1 min readSenior citizens in Bihar will soon be spared the hassle of standing in long queues at ration shops. The state government is drafting a comprehensive plan to bring essential food grains straight to the doorsteps of those aged 80 and above. Minister Ashok Choudhary stated that the government views the struggles of immobile elderly residents with great sensitivity and is determined to provide a respectful solution. During a departmental review, the Minister also focused on the transparency of the ration card issuance process, directing officials to ensure that all eligible individuals receive their cards within a stipulated timeframe without any bureaucratic delays. To improve public awareness, the department plans to launch a massive outreach campaign through social media, print, and electronic platforms. This move is expected to bridge the information gap and help thousands of vulnerable families understand and claim their rightful benefits under various state-led welfare schemes.
