As a precautionary measure, the animal husbandry division at Mehsana has collected samples, together with fowl droppings and blood samples, of fifty migratory birds from the Thol lake and despatched them to Bhopal for evaluation, he mentioned.

The Gujarat Animal Husbandry Department on Wednesday sounded an alert throughout the state to beef up surveillance and monitoring within the wake of the fowl flu scare.
