BJP Hits Back at Mamata’s Poll Defeat Denial
1 min readThe Bharatiya Janata Party isn’t mincing words against Mamata Banerjee’s post-election stubbornness. National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, in a forthright statement, advised the West Bengal CM to bow to the people’s verdict rather than challenge it. ‘In democracy, the citizen’s decision reigns supreme – it’s every representative’s duty to comply,’ he declared from New Delhi.
Chugh highlighted the double standards: EVMs and the Election Commission were Banerjee’s allies in victory, but villains in defeat. This flip-flop, he said, reveals a deeper malaise where democracy is viewed as a personal playground, fostering arrogance instead of adherence to norms.
West Bengal’s electorate has decisively voted her out, yet Banerjee persists, which Chugh deems an affront to fair elections and peaceful transitions. Her eroded backing leaves her leadership in question.
Shifting focus to Punjab’s turmoil, Chugh decried the recent twin explosions amid the state’s drug crisis. Targeting railways and army vicinities underscores the AAP regime’s incompetence. ‘Bhagwant Mann’s team is failing spectacularly – hollow promises can’t mask the chaos on the ground,’ he lambasted.
This dual critique underscores BJP’s push for principled governance, warning against the perils of ignoring democratic mandates and security lapses.
