A dominant performance by BJP and its Mahayuti partners in Maharashtra’s district council and panchayat samiti polls has Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailing it as divine approval from the state’s voters. Posting on X, Modi described the outcome as a clear public choice for su-shasan (good governance) that embodies Maharashtra’s rich ethos.
Fresh off municipal triumphs, this rural landslide reinforces Mahayuti’s grip. ‘Across cities and villages, our people want a coalition committed to their aspirations,’ the PM noted, thanking Maharashtrians profusely. He motivated workers for their door-to-door outreach promoting the government’s proven results and NDA ideals.
CM Devendra Fadnavis detailed the haul: Mahayuti swept all 12 zilla parishads, BJP leading the pack. Panchayat samitis saw BJP surge to 410 seats from 284 previously, securing chairmanships in about 105 of 125 tehsils with absolute majorities. ‘Grameen Maharashtra trusts us completely,’ Fadnavis beamed, saluting voters and cadres.
Opposition, he quipped, survives merely in TV studios, not streets. This verdict spans governance tiers, signaling robust backing for initiatives in agriculture, water, roads, and heritage. Maharashtra’s political landscape now looks set for stable, development-focused leadership, promising equitable growth for every corner of the state.
