BJP’s Kirodi Lal Meena detained from Pulwama widows protest web site in Jaipur

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan police on Friday detained BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena who was a part of a protest in Jaipur by widows of troopers killed within the Pulwama terror assault demanding jobs for households, and different points. Meena’s supporters who have been together with him have been detained, too.

Videos on social media present the BJP chief mendacity in a hospital and looking out visibly injured.

Meena has accused the police of “trying to kill him”. 

“The police tried to kill me, but I was saved by the blessings of the brave women, the youth, the unemployed, and the poor. I am hurt. I have been referred to Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur from Govindgarh Hospital,” he stated.

“I was going to visit Samod Balaji with my supporters, but the Samod police stopped me and abused and manhandled me. Is it such a big crime to stand with the brave women that the @ashokgehlot51 government is behaving like this with a public representative?” Mr Meena tweeted in Hindi together with video clips of his altercation with the police.

The widows of three CRPF jawans killed within the 2019 Pulwama terror assault have been protesting since February 28, and had launched an indefinite starvation strike six days in the past exterior Congress chief and former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot’s home, demanding a change in guidelines in order that their kinfolk and never simply youngsters can get authorities jobs on compassionate grounds.

Their different calls for included development of roads and set up of statues of the jawans of their villages

Hitting out on the Congress authorities within the state, BJP MP and former Union minister Rajyavardhan Rathore at a press convention in Delhi accused it of constructing false guarantees and insulting the nation’s heroes whereas practising politics of appeasement.

Rajasthan Police eliminated the widows from the protest web site within the early hours of Friday and shifted them to hospitals close to their respective residential areas, whereas their supporters have been taken to a police station in Jaipur, in line with police.

After a short lived detainment, they have been launched.

On Thursday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had accused state BJP leaders of “using the widows of the martyrs for their narrow political interests and thus, dishonouring them”, whereas on the demonstrators’ calls for he had requested if it might be “appropriate” to provide jobs to different kinfolk of the martyred jawans as a substitute of their youngsters.

BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena, who was supporting the protest by the widows, whereas talking to reporters in Jaipur, had requested, “Why is the government so afraid of three women warriors that the police picked them up overnight. The women were only pleading to meet Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot ji. Why is the chief minister so nervous to hear them?” he stated.
