Alert in Kanpur as authorities assemble a 14-strong Special Investigation Team (SIT) under ADCP Yogesh Kumar to dismantle a pernicious fake marksheet empire targeting Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University. This high-stakes probe follows one of the largest hauls of forged academic papers in recent memory.
The breakthrough came during a targeted operation at Kidwai Nagar’s Shail Group of Education. Four ringleaders fell into custody, yielding 900+ bogus items—marking the lion’s share, 357 CSJMU fakes, including degrees, transcripts, and migration docs.
Forensic finds included a replicated deputy registrar stamp, underscoring the operation’s sophistication. Spanning nine states, the syndicate extorted fortunes: Rs 50,000 apiece for high school/intermediate, mid-range for undergrads, and premiums up to Rs 2.5 lakh for elite courses.
Insider betrayal is key—university staff allegedly fed data for digital forgeries that fooled checks. Seized cheques and property trails suggest crores in black money, with prominent lawyers exposed for fake LLBs.
Despite university brass insisting on clean hands and no cop chats, the damning cache tells otherwise. Expect the SIT to raid premises, summon personnel, and peel back layers of graft. With accomplices evading capture, Kanpur police signal zero tolerance, promising sweeping reforms to safeguard educational integrity.
