A major shift in Bihar politics: Nishant Kumar, son of long-time CM Nitish Kumar, is entering the fray. According to JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha, Nishant will officially join the party this Sunday, starting active duties Monday.
Jha shared details from Friday’s party huddle in Nitish’s presence. ‘We demanded Nishant’s entry, and he approved it on the spot,’ he said. Lauding Nitish’s record—10 CM oaths—Jha noted, ‘His presence dignifies every office. Rajya Sabha is next, and we’re fully supportive.’
Clearing air on Nitish’s Delhi stint, Jha stated it’s temporary for sessions. ‘He’ll base in Bihar, monitoring progress and advising. Don’t think he’s leaving us.’
Party state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha added that Nitish assured hands-on guidance. Nishant’s portfolio? ‘Party leaders will chart the course ahead.’
This move underscores JD(U)’s confidence in its future, with Nishant as a fresh face inheriting a political heavyweight’s mantle. Bihar watchers predict it could reshape alliances and strategies.
