Charan fell into it while driving his private vehicle, stopped at Narsinghpura toll on Nimbahad highway. A thorough search uncovered Rs 2,87,150—the illicit payoff routed via a contact.

Grilled on the spot, Charan faltered in his responses, sealing his arrest. Ongoing raids at his official home and interrogation by ADG Smita Srivastava’s team promise more revelations. The Prevention of Corruption Act FIR marks the formal start of legal proceedings.
