Chhattisgarh: Maoists launch image of the jawan of their custody
The CPI (Maoists) on Wednesday launched an image of a jawan from the elite CoBRA unit, to point out he was of their custody. The image was launched a day after the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DSZC) of the banned organisation issued a press word demanding government-mandated interlocutors.
In the image launched by the Maoists, CoBRA jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas is seen sitting on a plastic mat underneath a shed made out of leaves, presumably at a Maoist camp.

Manhas had gone lacking on April 3, following a fierce gun battle between safety forces and Maoists on the Sukma-Bijapur border. In the aftermath of the ambush, our bodies of twenty-two safety personnel had been recovered.
On Monday, native journalists had acquired calls that the jawan was in Maoist custody.
This was additional confirmed by the Maoists press word on Tuesday, during which they demanded that the federal government appoint interlocutors to whom Manhas could be handed over to.
However, the Bastar IG on Tuesday launched an announcement during which Manhas was nonetheless described as lacking. The assertion mentioned the veracity of the press word was being checked.
