In a move against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Chhattisgarh conducted an operation in the Surajpur district, leading to the arrest of Jugeshwar Rajwade. Rajwade, a clerk working at the Surajpur tehsil office, was caught red-handed while taking a bribe of 25,000 rupees. The ACB team, which had come from Raipur, carried out the operation at the tehsil office premises. The clerk had demanded the bribe from a farmer for completing the land mutation. After receiving a complaint from the farmer and confirming its accuracy, the ACB executed a trap. Rajwade was arrested as soon as he accepted the money, and the bribe was recovered. The entire operation was recorded on video to provide irrefutable evidence. The ACB is presently questioning the accused and is looking into the potential involvement of other staff members in the corruption.
