Bastar region will have all-round development: Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai. A gift of development works worth 284 crore rupees given to Kanker district. Several announcements including starting education in Bengali language in primary schools of 135 villages of the Bang community from the new academic session. Raipur, January 16, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has said that the Bastar region will witness all-round development. He said that Naxalism is nearing its end in the state, after which rapid development will be visible in the Bastar zone. Chief Minister Shri Sai today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development works worth 284 crore rupees in a program organized in Pakhanjur, Kanker district. At the program held at Netaji Subhash Stadium, various announcements were also made for the development of the people of Paralkot region, including the announcement to start education in Bengali language from the new academic session in the primary schools of 135 villages of the Bang community. He announced the construction of a road from Sambalpur via Durgukondal to Pakhanjur, a Gauravpath from Mandi Gate to Anjadi Nala in Pakhanjur, a CC road from the Fish Market in Pakhanjur to Nar-Narayan Seva Ashram, construction of a boundary wall in the Government Girls School ground, starting fire brigade vehicle service in Pakhanjur, and establishing Dhanwantari Generic Medical Stores in Civil Hospital Pakhanjur. Wishing the community on Makar Sankranti, the Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously moving towards development with the willpower to work with cleanliness and transparency in administrative tasks. Shri Sai stated that the state government is working rapidly following the resolutions of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. In a short span of two years, the state government has approved 1.8 million houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, as a result of which 8 lakh beneficiaries have already entered their homes. Similarly, 7 million women are benefiting from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Many important schemes like Niyad Nellanar, Dharti Aba Abhiyan, and PM Janman are being implemented in tribal-dominated areas, which has given momentum to development works. The Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme was restarted. Paddy is being purchased from hardworking farmers at the rate of 3100 rupees per quintal for 21 quintals per acre. Kanker MP Shri Bhojraj Nag and Antagarh MLA Shri Vikramdev Usendi also addressed the program. Chief Minister Shri Sai reached Nar Narayan Seva Ashram, performed prayers, and prayed for the prosperity and happiness of the state residents. He said that “service to man is service to God” and this ashram, established with this goal, is doing the noble work of carrying forward faith and tradition. He performed ritual worship of the oil painting and statue of the ashram founder, Swami Satyanand Paramhansa. After this, he paid tribute to the martyrdom of the revolutionary of the Paralkot rebellion, Shaheed Gaind Singh, by offering flowers at his statue located on the main road of Pakhanjur. On this occasion, MLA Shri Asharam Netam, Chairperson of the State Handicraft Board Smt. Shalini Rajput, District Panchayat President Smt. Kiran Nareti, former MP Shri Mohan Mandavi, former MLA Shri Manturam Pawar, along with local public representatives and a large number of local residents were present.
