Chhattisgarh has enhanced its connectivity with the launch of a new rail service between Rajim and Raipur. The Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, inaugurated the new MEMU train service at Rajim, which improves transportation for those traveling between these locations. The Rajim-Raipur-Rajim MEMU train service and the Raipur-Abhanpur MEMU rail service are also being extended to Rajim. A large number of passengers boarded the train and set off for Raipur with great enthusiasm. The availability of this affordable rail service has created a cheerful atmosphere throughout the region. The Chief Minister stated that this new train service will offer a cost-effective and convenient travel option to the capital, Raipur, for the residents of Rajim, Gariyaband, and Devbhog. This will be of significant benefit to students, professionals, and businesspeople. He emphasized that the connection of Rajim, the ‘Prayag of Chhattisgarh,’ to the railway network will facilitate smoother, more convenient, and more affordable travel from rural areas to Raipur. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chhattisgarh has experienced continuous development over the past 19 months. Investment in railway infrastructure will create a brighter future. The revival of the broad-gauge train service after the narrow-gauge service from Dhamtari to Raipur was discontinued eight years ago is a significant achievement. Around 45,000 crore rupees are currently invested in railway projects across Chhattisgarh. The budget for fiscal year 2025-26 includes approximately 7,000 crore rupees to foster the rapid expansion and development of rail services in the state.
