A spine-chilling murder case has rocked Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband district, exposing the dark underbelly of rural feuds. In Gariba village, two women—Sugatin Netam (36) and Itwarin Bai (46)—are accused of sadistically killing their friend Pinky (37) after a dispute over alleged character assassination.
What started as whispers of defamation boiled over into a deadly assault. The accused visited Pinky’s house, where arguments turned physical. In a display of extreme cruelty, they rubbed chili powder on her private parts and battered her body with lathis, prolonging her suffering until death.
Responding to distress calls, authorities arrived promptly. The crime scene was cordoned off, evidence meticulously collected, and the victim’s remains sent for forensic examination. Both suspects are now in custody, facing stringent charges.
Mainpur police chief Nakul Sidar revealed during preliminary inquiries that bad blood had existed between the parties. ‘Interrogations continue, and we’re exploring all angles, including third-party involvement,’ he said. The postmortem will provide vital clues on the injuries sustained.
This barbaric act has ignited outrage across the region, prompting calls for community awareness programs on conflict resolution. Pinky’s loved ones are shattered, vowing to pursue justice relentlessly. The case serves as a grim reminder of how petty grudges can spiral into irreversible violence, urging society to foster dialogue over vengeance.
