The Ambikapur Kotwali police have cracked a sensitive murder case involving the death of a local resident named Durga Chaudhary. The investigation revealed that the victim was frequently involved in altercations with her husband and daughter due to her addiction to liquor. The situation turned lethal during the late hours of December 29, when the family members attempted to confront her once more. When the victim refused to comply with their demands to stop drinking, the duo allegedly launched a physical assault on her. The severity of the beating was so extreme that she had to be hospitalized immediately. Sadly, she lost her life while undergoing treatment. Law enforcement officials acted swiftly upon receiving the autopsy reports and witness statements, leading to the arrest of both the father and the daughter. They have been charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are now facing trial for their roles in the homicide.
