Chhattisgarh security forces have successfully eliminated six Naxalites during a targeted operation in the Bijapur district. The encounter occurred in the Indravati National Park area when a joint team, comprising elite police units, was on an anti-Naxal mission based on crucial intelligence about senior Maoist leaders being present. The operation quickly turned into a significant firefight, with security personnel engaging the armed cadres. The exchange of fire lasted for several hours before the Naxalites were neutralized. A subsequent search of the encounter site yielded the bodies of the six militants, along with their automatic weapons and explosives. The Chief Minister hailed the operation as a major success and a vital step towards eradicating Naxalism from the state.
