Chhattisgarh security forces have successfully eliminated six Naxalites during a targeted operation in the Bijapur district. The encounter occurred in the Indravati National Park area when a joint team, comprising elite police units, was on an anti-Naxal mission based on crucial intelligence about senior Maoist leaders being present. The operation quickly turned into a significant firefight, with security personnel engaging the armed cadres. The exchange of fire lasted for several hours before the Naxalites were neutralized. A subsequent search of the encounter site yielded the bodies of the six militants, along with their automatic weapons and explosives. The Chief Minister hailed the operation as a major success and a vital step towards eradicating Naxalism from the state. This outcome reinforces the commitment to ensuring peace and security across Chhattisgarh. The number of Naxalites eliminated in the state this year has reached 259, reflecting intensified anti-insurgency efforts.
