The government of Chhattisgarh is celebrating recent victories against Naxal elements in Gariaband and Narayanpur districts, with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai offering his congratulations to the security forces. Operations involving the CRPF’s Cobra commandos, the Chhattisgarh Police, and the DRG have proven successful. In Gariaband, security forces eliminated 10 Naxalites, including a high-ranking leader, Modem Balakrishna, a central committee member with a reward of 1 crore. In Narayanpur, a group of 16 Naxalites surrendered to the authorities, reflecting a shift in allegiance and a move towards joining mainstream society. These individuals included those involved in the Janataana Sarkar, Panchayat Militia, and Justice Branch. Chief Minister Sai expressed his conviction that the aim of a ‘Naxal-free India’ will be realized by March 2026, under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
