The monsoon season is intensifying in Chhattisgarh, bringing with it thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for 14 districts, including Raipur, Dhamtari, Bilaspur, Balrampur, Surajpur, Jashpur, Mahasamund, and Gariaband, anticipating heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Residents in these areas are advised to remain cautious. The IMD forecasts a weakening of the monsoon in South Chhattisgarh starting today, leading to normal weather conditions in the region. North Chhattisgarh can expect light to moderate rainfall over the next five days. The capital city, Raipur, has been experiencing cloudy skies and drizzle since Thursday morning, leading to a decrease in temperature. In the last 24 hours, the following maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded in different districts: Raipur – 28.7°C (max), 24.6°C (min); Bilaspur – 28.8°C (max), 25.2°C (min); Ambikapur – 29.1°C (max), 23.4°C (min); Jagdalpur – 27.6°C (max), 23.0°C (min); Durg – 31.6°C (max), 19.2°C (min). From June 1st to August 20th, Chhattisgarh has received 787.7 millimeters of rainfall. Balrampur recorded the highest rainfall with 1145.3 millimeters, while Bemetara saw the lowest at 390.6 millimeters.
