A spectacle of unity unfolded in Chhattisgarh as 6,412 couples entered wedlock simultaneously, setting a new benchmark acknowledged by the Golden Book of World Records. At the helm was Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who graced the state-level mass wedding at Raipur’s Science College grounds via the flagship Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana.
Sai shared poignant stories of relief for poor families, where the scheme has replaced wedding anxieties with pride. He extended blessings to over 1,300 local couples and connected virtually with the rest statewide, disbursing Rs 35,000 assistance to each.
Diversity shone through as Hindu, Muslim, and other traditions intertwined seamlessly, promoting social rasa. Paralleling the joy, Sai kicked off the Malnutrition-Free Chhattisgarh initiative in eight pilot districts, stressing societal involvement for nutritional health.
The CM outlined transformative policies: Mahtari Vandan for women’s aid, tendu leaf price hikes, footwear distribution revival, and landless worker support. ‘In just two years, we’ve delivered on promises with people’s blessings,’ he said.
Minister Laxmi Rajwade noted the scheme’s evolution from Raman Singh’s era, now propelled forward. Colleague Guru Khushwant Saha described the mass event as proof of visionary leadership reaching every corner.
With MLAs, agency heads, and commissioners in attendance, the program blended celebration with policy announcements, reinforcing Chhattisgarh’s dedication to harmony, health, and holistic growth.
