A heartbreaking incident in the Dhamtari district has highlighted the devastating consequences of marital suspicion, leading to a wife’s suicide. The couple had been struggling with mutual distrust for the past few years, leading to escalating conflicts. The wife’s ultimate act was a consequence of this strained relationship. The event took place in the Baniyapara ward, falling under the Kotwali police station’s purview. The couple had migrated from Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, to the area for labor work. The deceased was identified as Surekha Ahuja. She and her husband worked at a local grocery store located in the Jalampur ward and lived in a rented house. The couple had been married for roughly ten years, but the last two years saw a steady decline in their relationship due to rising suspicion. This caused constant tension and arguments. On Friday, Surekha ended her life by hanging herself with a chunari. The Kotwali police were immediately informed and arrived at the scene. The body was then sent to the district hospital for a post-mortem. The police are currently investigating the details of the entire incident.
