Heatwave Alert: Rajasthan Touches 46.8°C as Central India Swelters

Central and Western India continue to reel under a brutal heatwave, with temperatures crossing the 46-degree mark in several regions. In Rajasthan, the town of Phalodi recorded a blistering 46.8 degrees Celsius on Thursday, even as some neighboring areas saw minor dust storms that failed to bring the temperature down. In Madhya Pradesh, the situation remains dire as night temperatures in cities like Indore and Bhopal have failed to drop below 30 degrees, offering no respite to residents during the dark hours. The IMD has issued an orange alert for several districts in Madhya Pradesh, including Indore, Ujjain, and Ratlam, urging people to take necessary precautions. Streets in these areas have reported very low footfall during peak afternoon hours due to the extreme heat.
