A tragic incident unfolded on the national highway in Rajnandgaon, where a hit-and-run accident claimed the lives of nine cattle. The event occurred late at night near the Indamara intersection. Preliminary reports indicate that a high-speed truck collided with cattle that were sitting on the side of the road. The impact was devastating, killing cows and calves instantly. The incident occurred around 2:30 AM. The force of the impact was such that the animals were dragged by the truck for some distance. The police, including CSP Pushpendra Nayak, and a team from the municipal corporation, arrived at the scene to investigate. The deceased animals were buried with dignity. Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage to find the truck and its driver involved in the accident.
