The Indian Meteorological Department has highlighted a stark contrast in weather patterns across the subcontinent this week. While the southern states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu brace for heavy precipitation, Rajasthan is preparing for another round of intense dust storms. Kerala, in particular, is under a severe weather watch from June 3 to June 7, with very heavy rainfall predicted to lash the coastal state. Meanwhile, the northeast region, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, continues to see heavy downpours that are expected to last until at least June 7. The department has urged residents in these zones to remain vigilant against potential waterlogging and flash floods, especially in low-lying residential areas.
