In a significant success for anti-insurgency efforts, 50 Naxal cadres, comprising 32 women, have surrendered in Kanker district, Chhattisgarh. The surrender ceremony at the Border Security Force’s 40th Battalion camp saw the handover of 39 weapons. Key figures like senior commanders Rajman Mandavi and Raju Salam were among those who renounced violence. The group included influential members such as five DVCM-rank Maoists and 21 ACM-level operatives. This marks a pivotal moment, especially as it represents the first major surrender from the northern Maad territory.
