After the crime, he fled but was later apprehended. The victim’s brother found her covered in blood and informed the police. The crime scene yielded a blood-stained screwdriver, shoes, a shirt, earphones, and condom packets. The police, with the assistance of the cyber cell, arrested the boyfriend from Gujarat. He was subsequently brought to Korba. The court’s verdict included life imprisonment under several sections of the law, along with a fine of 75,000 rupees. Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional 18 months of imprisonment.
