The Maternity Vandan Yojana, a key initiative of the Chhattisgarh government under Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is designed to uplift women across the state. The program aims to promote economic independence, improve health and nutrition, and enhance the role of women within their families. Eligible married, widowed, and abandoned women receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000, directly deposited into their bank accounts. The scheme, under the direction of Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade, seeks to combat discrimination and promote self-sufficiency. It presently benefits more than 69.19 lakh women in Chhattisgarh. In Narayanpur district, over ₹2 crore 78 lakh is disbursed monthly to over 27,000 women, including 3,687 women from particularly backward tribal groups.
