Naxalites have carried out an IED blast in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, resulting in the death of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje and injuries to several other police personnel. The explosion occurred near Dondra village. The security forces were patrolling due to a bandh call by CPI(M) on June 10th. The injured were rushed to Konta Hospital. The Deputy CM, Vijay Shamra, expressed grief over the loss. The incident follows a pattern of attacks targeting security forces. Previous incidents, such as the January 6th, 2025, attack in Bijapur, also highlight the challenges faced in counter-Naxal operations. Search and rescue operations have been initiated.
