Naxalites launched an attack in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, resulting in the death of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje and injuries to several police officers. The IED blast took place near Dondra village during a police patrol. The injured were taken to Konta Hospital for treatment. The incident happened amid heightened security due to a bandh called by CPI(M). The Deputy CM has expressed grief. The incident is the latest in a series of attacks by Naxalites, posing significant challenges to security operations in the region. The search operations have been intensified following the blast.
