The Chhattisgarh government is set to construct 166 ‘Mahtari Sadans’ across the state to empower rural women. The project aims to enhance their self-sufficiency, promote community harmony, and facilitate their participation in social activities. The initial phase includes approval for ‘Mahtari Sadans’ in the Manendragarh-Bharatpur-Chirmiri district. The selected villages for these facilities are Duggi, Katkona, and Thaggaw. Each ‘Mahtari Sadan’ will be equipped with essential amenities, including rooms, verandas, halls, kitchens, storerooms, tube wells for drinking water, and community toilets, all within a 2,500 square-foot area. The construction budget for each center is Rs 30 lakh.
